My Bloody Valentine
Despite their reputation for crushingly loud concerts, My Bloody Valentine can be surprisingly understated on waxcreative lead Kevin Shields apparently had the foresight to realize that shoegaze would need to provide both spectacle and introspection simultaneously. Last year's m b v, their first album in over 20 years, updates the fuzz so it sounds as if it's obscuring an important message coming from a million miles away. Good luck figuring it out through your earplugs.
