Ben Hecht cooked up one of the most sparking scripts in 30s screwball comedy for this Carole Lombard vehicle in which she's a small-town girl diagnosed with a deadly disease who is turned into a national heroine by a newspaper circulation stunt. This classic is only 75 minutes long—in those days they knew how to cut the crap.
