Of Time and the City
(Terence Davies, 2008). Davies ruminates on life, loss and Liverpool, the city of his birth, in this poetic doc that draws mostly on first-rate archival footage. A great plus is his superb ability to marry sound with image, to match his clips with affecting popular songs of the 40s and 50s. A number of the clips will be of special interest to architectural historians.
