PAINT IT BLACK
British sound art pioneer Lustmord has spent 25 years on ambient musics depressive, barnacle-scraping, void-staring, shadow-lurking underbelly. If Eno is a pillowy cumulous cloud, Lustmord is a foreboding dusk on the grayest of daysa stomach-twisting murmur of ghost rattles and uneasy hums and field recordings of actual crypts. No wonder heavy metal loves him (hes collaboed with Tool, the Melvins, and Jarboe, and currently releases records on art-metal staple Hydra Head). Closing out the Unsound Festivals 10-day celebration of electronic musics bleeding edge, this marks the elusive abyss-makers second American show evercomplete with likely haunting visuals by the man himself. Tonight, he joins Void Ov Voices (better known as Atilla Csihar, vocalist of notorious black metal pioneers Mayhem) and Polish signal-torturer Robert Piotrowicz.
