PARTY IN THE ROUND
Hell, since most modern art by the under-30 crowd seems to be photos of hipsters and détourned Nintendo controllers, why not spend a night in the museum with the super-cool, nostalgialicious bad boys of retro-revisionist electro-funk, Chromeo? P-Thugg and Dave 1 will be spinning from their record collections—we'll assume plenty of Zapp, Mantronix, and Egyptian Lover will be on deck—filling the rotunda with booming bass and rattling the steel frames of that menacing, massive Anish Kapoor installation at the end of ramp one. This is the season finale of Guggenheim First Fridays, the art-'n'-jams series that's been going on for a solid half-decade, so hurry up and party like it's 2010 or 1980 or whatever.
