PASS THE BUTTER
Go get the butter. According to any chef worth his salt, everything tastes better with butter. And this axiom has never been more disturbingly demonstrated than in the infamous and high-cholesterol love scene in Bernardo Bertoluccis 1973 film, Last Tango in Paris, a story of anonymous sex and emotional turmoil between an American widower and an affianced Frenchwoman. The films star, Marlon Brando, has long since gone to that great creamery in the sky, but director Doris Mirescu has decided its high time for a theatrical adaptation of the calorific script. This multimedia performance features a cast of little-known actors as well as live cameras, live music, and, we trust, props that will cheer the heart of any lover of dairy.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: Aug. 22. Continues through Sept. 6, 2008
