PEOPLE ARE STRANGE
If tweens care enough to know where Robert Pattinson got his vampire mystique, they need look no further than Jason Patric—whose performance in Joel Schumacher's 1987 The Lost Boys is the true origin of the screen-star heartthrob with a killer bite. Way before Twilight, The Lost Boys modernized the art of sucking blood by replacing crusty old Count Dracula with cute young Southern California dudes. In brief: Two brothers, new in town, get mixed up in opposite crews—one's a gang of vampire bikers; the other, the comic-book geeks out to hunt them. The cast stars members of the '80s Teen Beat elite, including Patric, Jami Gertz, Kiefer Sutherland, and Coreys Feldman and Haim (before the bloating and rehab). For this special midnight revival at IFC, goodie bags will be handed out—though we're not sure if they include garlic.
