PICTURES OF YOU

For her work The Artist Is Present at MOMA in 2010, Marina Abramovic sat in a chair for a total of 736 hours and 30 minutes and stared at anyone who chose to sit across from her. The only other person who was there for as long Abramovic was photographer Marco Anelli, who documented the faces of all who participated, including Michael Stipe, Björk, Lou Reed, and James Franco. Tonight, Abramovic, Anelli, and the show’s curator, Klaus Biesenbach, discuss the show’s impact at this launch party for Anelli’s book of photographs, Portraits in the Presence of Marina Abramovic. To see the photos up close, head to Danziger Gallery (527 West 23rd Street, 212-629-6778), where they’re on display through October 27.
