Despite vocal dexterity, a twangy flow, and a willingness to leapfrog onto posse cuts, Q-rating elevation has proved difficult for Pill. While the Atlanta native born Tyrone Rivers has come a long way since bursting onto the rap scene in '09, his for-profit oeuvre still consists of little more than a few pharmacy-themed mixtapes. Which is a shame: The guy exudes the sort of boundless, little-nephew charisma that's one can't help but root for. "Free Pill, Rick Ross!" is an inherently ridiculous exclamation, but it’s worth repeating, even through megaphones.
