Philly-based power-poppers Free Energy are set to open for Weezer next month over two nights at Roseland, which may well boost their stock provided the right music supervisors show up: Free Energy, the best song from their James Murphyproduced debut, was made for a movie scene like that one in Clueless where All the Young Dudes scores the march of the stoners. For now, you can still catch them in a room small enough to make their super-70s pastiche feel bigger than that. With Ohios similarly inclined (but less tunefully endowed) Foxy Shazam.
