Consistently demonstrating equal levels of musical and comedic virtuosity, this particularly tenacious Frank Zappa tribute ensemble returns with a couple of special guests, singer-guitarists Ike Willis and Ray White. Willis performed with Zappa longer than any other musician and, with White, provided particularly powerful harmonizing and improvised high jinks during FZ's early '80s tours. Soul men more than sessioneers, Willis and White evoked the gritty blues and r&b Zappa inhaled as a late '50s teenager growing up in the Mojave Desert. This combo more than does him justice.
