What happens when an annual music festival becomes older that its average attendee? If the Warped Tour is any indication, not much. Now in its 18th year, the event returns to—where else?—Long Island with more punk, pop-punk, emo-punk, hardcore-punk, and electro-punk bands than I care to count. Of note: “Ohio is for Lovers” dudes Hawthorne Heights, Canadian tear-jerkers Silverstein, Ke$ha collaborators 3OH!3, “melodic metalcore” screamers We Came as Romans, and Reel Big Fish, the Cali ska band that played the first-ever Warped Tour back in ’96. Hey, Mom and Dad have to listen to something.
