In Retribution Gospel Choir, the pair plays alternately hopeful and morose indie rock that's loud enough to wake the dead. It's like the episode of Seinfeld where George Costanza does the opposite of what his instincts tell him to do and comes out a winner every timethe exception, of course, being that Low is no George Costanza. Sparhawk and Livingston's single real misstep was printing only 1,000 copies of RGCs now sold-out debut.
