Joan Crawford is a carefree Parisian clothes-horse who turns patriot during the German occupation and comes to the aid of American flier-in-hiding John Wayne in Dassin's ridiculous but enjoyable World War II romance. Lady Crawford suffers in styleobviously dressing like a refugee was not in her contract.
