These three performances mark the first restaging in four decades of Robert Ashley's 1967 experimental opera, a highlight of Performa 11's celebration of the 82-year-old composer and a modern, minimalist, and often very funny assemblage of monologue-like arias, conversational ensemble parts, eight dancers, a frog chorus, and a Midwestern inscrutability characteristic of his later masterpiece, Perfect Lives.
