SEEK THE LIGHT
Trans chanteuse/pianist/accordionist Our Lady J (a/k/a Jonnah Speidel), who recently released her EP Our Lady J: Live at the Zipper Factory, knows how to rock the house with everything from sassy originals ("Pink Prada Purse") to covers by the likes of Nine Inch Nails and Alanis Morissette. This time out, backed by the Pink Champagne Orchestra and the Train to Kill Gospel Choir, she revels in the hits of one of her favorite artists, Dolly Parton, for the second annual Gospel of Dolly concert. Performing with the help of such bawdy talents as Taylor Mac, Novice Theory, and Euan Morton, Our Lady J will likely have you singing her praises (to the tune of "I Will Always Love You") long after the show is over.
