Walk into the new Charles LeDray mid-career retrospective titled workworkworkworkwork and you might just think you stumbled onto the set for Gullivers Travels. Here you play the friendly giant, leaning in to get a closer look at LeDrays minuscule hats, re-created secondhand clothes perfect for the Fantastic Mr. Fox (or even tinier outfits fit for a mouse), and thousands of ceramics and figurines you could put in your pocket (but dont do that). Yes, the Lilliputian exhibit may seem sweet, but its hardly innocent: The New Yorkbased sculptor, who reportedly takes great pains to create every piece by hand himself, constructs his mini masterpieces with sewn cloth, glazed ceramics, andgulphuman bone.
