The only New York sports venue situated in a major commuter hub, the Morgan Tournament of Champions is first class all the way. The court inside Grand Central Terminal is glass-walled, with stadium seating on three sides and the fourth open for passersby. The world’s top players will be competing in the glass cube, which weighs 10 tons. Even if you don’t follow this high-speed racquet sport—the ball is known to travel in excess of 170 mph!—it’s worth a stop by to watch. Growing in popularity, squash fans are organizing to make it an Olympic event in 2020. If you don’t want to pay for a seat, it’s free to stand.
Mondays-Wednesdays, Fridays-Sundays, noon. Starts: Jan. 21. Continues through Jan. 22, 2013
