Chicago's Smith Westerns pushed their way into the indie spotlight with a scraggly, jutting-chin debut for HoZac Records that reveled in its youthful bravado like a teenage motorcycle gang with a death wish. Having moved up to Fat Possum and a fatter production budget for the recent Dye It Blonde, they now have the means to make the girls cream over their Millennial vigor and glitter rock reduxes. They're like a cleaner cut Black Lips who'd rather kiss your mouth than spit in each other's. Expect more from these dudes. With Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Computer Magic.
