Dir. Jack Garfein (1961). Jack Garfeins independent production is an urban fairy tale in which a college girl is raped on her way home from school and embarks on a solitary odyssey through the citys lower depths. Carroll Baker gives a fascinatingly behavioral performance, but the uneasy blend of symbolism and naturalism might have worked better on stage, or played out in a mental-hospital dayroom.
