A merry band of Montrealers who did time in Broken Social Scene before emerging with their own dangerous liaisons, Stars rests on the overblown romanticism of lead vocalists Torquil Campbell and Amy Milan. Prone to tossing rose petals at the crowd and sighing with a weepy Morrissey élan, Campbell is the David Guest to Milan's Liza Minelli; the band's showy romance played all for camp. Still, fans will rejoice in the emotional bombast, lush orchestration, and heady metaphors of tracks such as "I Died So I Can Haunt You" at Terminal 5's cinematic environs. It's Les Mis for less! With Wild Nothing.
