Steve Bernstein's Millenial Territorial Orchestra
The city's sassiest big jazz band plays the music of Sly Stone, who according to the New York Post currently resides in a small camper parked on the streets of Crenshaw. Slide trumpeter Steve Bernstein will coax, nudge, and hector his often bemused nonet (augmented here by keyboardist Bernie Worrell and singers Eric Mingus and Sandra St. Victor) through Stone's heady melodies and raving vamps.
