Baseball is over for the year, the fates of our NFL teams are undecided though dubious—and it's time to turn to college hoops. Now in its third year, the Philly Hoops Classic picks seven schools and allows them to play two games at other participating schools before a grand finale over Thanksgiving weekend at the historic Palestra in Philadelphia. And it's for a good cause—sponsored by the Hoop Group, a basketball organization dedicated to teaching the game of basketball while providing a platform for student-athletes to showcase their talents. The Johnnies are back with all five of their starters and a couple of key high school prospects signed on, so fans are optimistic. Here's hoping coach Norm can take the team through the Big Jump to return to the old glory days, or at least make some positive moves in that direction.
