STRIKE A POSE
The ancient practice of yoga—popular among New Yorkers for finding much-needed spiritual, mental, and physical
replenishment—has found a surprisingly peaceful home on Coney Island. The Lola Star Souvenir Boutique, sponsors of Yoga on the Beach classes, promises, “Fill your lungs with fresh sea air, soak in the sunshine, and stretch your cares away!” All levels, including beginner, are welcome, and yoga mats are available to borrow. No fee, but donations are appreciated. Just sign in before each class at the Lola Star in the Stillwell Avenue Subway station on Surf Avenue. After class, walk over to Steeplechase Plaza and ride the restored B&B Carousel . . . fabulous! Tuesdays and Fridays at 7, classes are at 21st Street and the Boardwalk in front of the former Dreamland Roller Rink building (the Child’s Building).
