Indie-rock darlings Superchunk laid out their mantra in their 1989 fan favorite, "Slack Motherfucker": "I'm working, but I'm not working for you." And so it's been for almost a decade, as they haven't released an LP since 2001's Here's to Shutting Up. Sure, the band has played a few shows, frontman Mac McCaughan has put out a few fantastic records as Portastatic, and he and fellow Chunkster Laura Balance have reaped great rewards with their record label Merge, whose roster includes the Arcade Fire and Spoon. Well, this week they release Majesty Shredding and are playing this show. It's about time. With Merge artists Let's Wrestle.
