Late in the presidential campaign, Barack Obama issued a statement roundly condemning torture: "It's time to tell the world that America rejects torture without exception or equivocation," he ordained. But we trust Obama will make an executive exemption for Christopher Durang's new play, Why Torture Is Wrong, and the People Who Love Them. This latest work from the crack comedian concerns a young woman who begins to suspect that her new husband may have some rather outré hobbieslike terrorism. And she's none too trusting of her parents, either. Actors Kristine Nielsen, Laura Benanti, and David Aaron Baker help raise the alert level. Nicholas Martin directs.
Tuesdays, Sundays, 7 p.m.; Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: March 24. Continues through April 26, 2009
