Teenage Jesus & the Jerks
The howling, splatting, poking leading light of '70s no wave has returned for some appropriately brief and contentious shows. With a legacy that includes about 12 completed blasts of dissonance, their much-ballyhooed reunion shows have been comically short, perfectly sweet, and always hilarious, since lead singer Lydia Lunch is as prickly as ever. After 12 years as a Bad Seed, Jim Sclavunos has learned to play that bass, so he's moved over to drums, leaving the position open for Swans bassist Al Kizys. With three of New York's most electrifying neo-no-wavers: Sightings, Drunkdriver, and Talk Normal.
