THE AMAZING RACE
With a focus on using green, eco-friendly alternatives, the MOVRun 5K offers no disposable cups (although water is provided), no gift bags, no free T-shirts—just a chance to run in the heart of Central Park and contribute to a great cause: Funds raised are used to provide free ballroom dancing lessons for low-income, inner-city children. (If you think that's not a great cause, watch Take the Lead, with Antonio Banderas playing real-life dance teacher Pierre Dulaine, the founder of Dancing Classrooms who has established numerous programs to teach NYC schoolkids self-respect and the reward of work through ballroom dancing.) Central Park and West 77th Street, arrive 15 minutes before starting time, with a one-hour cutoff time
