THE ANTI-EMO DIARIES, VOL. 1
Leading a genre so new that there's not even a name for it we're gonna call it "anti-emo" for now Brooklyn/Baltimore/Australia band the Death Set are a neon-clad burst of pure energy that fuses electro, noise punk, and hip-hop with whatever cans of Sparks were around before they took the caffeine out. Their "Newmore Switchblades" tour brings together a ton of their like-minded, smiles-for-miles pals: Brooklyn Nintendo-dance band Team Robespierre mix clubby synths with traditional dance-punk; the super-infectious Ninjasonik does tweakier versions of Spank Rock booty anthems; and Cerebral Ballzy is unbeatable skate-punk splatter at a million miles an hour. There will be sweat. With rap goofus Totally Michael.
