THE BIG CHILL

For the best of what’s new in experimental theater, Soho Think Tank’s annual Ice Factory festival never fails. This will be the 17-year-old fest’s last year in the venerable Ohio Theatre in Soho, which is being forced to close after a couple of tough years of negotiations with its landlord. The six weeks of short runs opens with Lenora Champagne’s Staying Afloat (July 7–10), which concerns two women and a polar bear trapped on a melting ice floe. And, appropriately, it wraps with Robert Lyons’s Nostradamus Predicts the Death of Soho (August 11–14), the final work in Lyons’s downtown trilogy and the final performance ever at the Ohio. Opens July 7, through August 14, Ohio Theatre, 66 Wooster Street, 212-868-4444, sohothinktank.org, $10–$15 ANGELA ASHMAN For the best of what’s new in experimental theater, Soho Think Tank’s annual Ice Factory festival never fails.
