The Good Mother
Francine Volpe isn’t, to the best of our knowledge, nocturnal, but she certainly prefers the nightside of human emotions, tending toward the dark, the gloomy, the queasy. In her latest, directed by Scott Elliott, Gretchen Mol stars as a single mother facing up to a difficult past and murky future. A bright spot: Cynthia Rowley supplies the costumes.
Mondays-Wednesdays, 7 p.m.; Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 29. Continues through Dec. 22, 2012
