THE KING’S TWO BODIES
What’s left to say about Watch the Throne, the gold-plated, 12-tag-teamed-songs-plus-bonus-tracks opus on which Jay-Z and Kanye West, two of the biggest names in rap, finally consolidated their respective kingdoms, Maybachs on ’bachs on ’bachs and all? Maybe that three months after its frenzy-inducing release, the record sounds as good as ever, the light-hearted back and forth of “Gotta Have It” aging as well the more contemplative “Made in America” and soul-sampling banger “Otis.” This weekend, the duo brings the album to the Izod Center and pairs it with a stage show that will have you mumbling, “That shit cray” all night.
