The Mountain Goats
Who says a little prayer doesn't go a long way? Quirky indie-folk songwriter John Darniellethe one-man band behind the Mountain Goatsnamed each track on his latest album, The Life of the World to Come, after a different Bible verse, wrote the lyrics with sacrilegious cynicism, and even describes an apocalyptic scenario that rivals 2012. Clearly, this isn't quite Slow Train Coming but, no matter what your faith is, it's enough to sell out the Music Hall of Williamsburg and play the 1,400-person capacity Webster Hall. With Final Fantasy.
