The Radio Dept.
The Radio Dept.'s austere dream-pop always sounded like the auditory equivalent of a Sofia Coppola movie, so no surprise that the Swedish group was tapped for three tracks on the Marie Antoinette soundtrack. Finally attempting to break the States with the release of their singles compilation, Passive Aggressive, the Radio Dept. creates blithe agony from crisp vocal harmonies and a perpetual sense of synth-drenched ennui. Tonight, stare blankly to tracks such as "The Worst Taste In Music" and a spartan, IKEA-esque cover of the Go-Betweens' "Bachelor Kisses." With Young Prisms.
