THEATER IN A BOX
While New Yorkers may not have much choice but to live in claustrophobic quarters, theater company Temporary Distortion actually prefers them. Each of their original experimental multimedia pieces features the talentedand quite attractivecast performing from inside see-through boxlike structures, rigged with video monitors, microphones, and lighting equipment, for strange and often compelling results. Tonight, catch their latest work, Welcome to Nowhere (bullet hole road), which tells the story of a drifter traveling across America to escape his dark past. Beautiful video sequences, eerie monologues, and a little help from your imagination bring the work to life.
