THIS CHARMING BAND
Fresh from their appearance in Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (whose soundtrack includes their "Middle Management"), bookish Brooklynites Bishop Allen bring their cute-but-clever indie pop to the Music Hall of Williamsburg for two nights (beginning Saturday) of life-imitating-art-imitating-life. You can almost certainly expect to hear new songs: According to their MySpace page, Bishop Allen are nearing completion of a new album tentatively due out in February on Dead Oceans; they say it's shaping up to be more like Charm School, their self-released 2003 debut, than last year's The Broken String, which collected tracks from a monthly series of EPs the band released throughout 2006. In Nick & Norah, Michael Cera's band opens for Bishop Allen, but at the Music Hall, they'll be joined by Drink Up, Buttercup and the Electric Owls, a new project fronted by Andy Herod of the Comas.
Sat., Nov. 22, 9 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 23, 8:30 p.m., 2008
