THREE CANDLES OUT
Wooden Shjips (pronounced The Velvet Underground) are an apt choice to ring in Music Hall of Williamsburgs third anniversary; theyre boisterous, sloggy with reverb, and altogether reflective of the rising, psych-pop Williamsburg undercurrent. (One caveat: Theyre from San Francisco.) Their two discs on the Holy Mountain label are as demented and potentially devil-worshipping as MHOWs address; cheapskates, embrace your new pagan idols, as their show (and all drinks) are only $3 tonight.
