Guitarist/bandleader Ibrahim Ag Alhabib updated, electrified, and introduced the nomadic and proudly self-sustaining Tuareg people's loping Saharan blues to the rest of the world more than 30 years ago. His group's new Emaar, recorded in Southern California's Joshua Tree desert park, sounds more organic and single-minded than ever, although you might miss their earlier albums' female contributions.
