For electronic-music fans, this weekend marks the return of what has become a summer-months institution: MOMA P.S.1’s Warm Up series, which for 15 years has brought a laid-back blend of art, food, and cutting-edge dance acts to the museum’s courtyard in Long Island City. Kicking off the 2012 season (on a program curated by culture vultures from XL Recordings and True Panther Sounds, among others) are deep-house legend Todd Terry, Brooklyn darkwave duo Light Asylum, and L.A.’s Nguzunguzu, who had a hand in M.I.A.’s wacky Vicki Leekx mixtape a couple of years ago. Come for the beats; stay for the promise of seeing a hipster on a Slip ’n’ Slide.
Saturdays, 2 p.m. Starts: July 7. Continues through Sept. 8, 2012
