It's been a little more than a decade since the ebullient Philadelphia-raised pianist released Solitaire, his first solo album. Its dense and playful allusions to Satie, Ravel, Gottschalk, Waller, Taylor, and McCartney should indicate how inclusive this solo set could get: Caine's no minimalist, and the ideas tend to come fast and furiously, though he's just as capable of romantic delicacy.
