Here's an event you don't really have to train for—just wear really comfortable shoes. The New York Shorewalkers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing, enjoying, and protecting the City's parks—their motto is "See NYC at 3MPH!" This is their 24th annual Great Saunter, a 32-mile walk around Manhattan at what is promised to be a steady pace. The stroll takes you through 20 parks, as well as the new Manhattan Waterfront Greenway and the shores of four boroughs. If you can't make the entire walk, you are welcome to jump in at any place along the way, and no one will disqualify you. The walk ends back at the Seaport for a party at the Heartland Brewery.
