WARHOL FOREVER

Talk about extending your 15 minutes of fame, beyond the grave—Andy Warhol's portrait of Elizabeth Taylor will soon go up for auction at Christie's with an estimated value of $12 million. Indeed, the endlessly fascinating artist has been the subject of numerous books and now, here's a new one: The Autobiography and Sex Life of Andy Warhol, a collection of intimate interviews with Warhol's closest friends by John Wilcock, an original Voice columnist and co-founder (with Warhol) of Interview magazine. Tonight, Wilcock, photojournalist Gretchen Berg, former Warhol Superstars Brigid Berlin and Taylor Mead, and Warhol's assistant, Gerard Malanga, join cultural historian Steven Watson for what should be a revealing conversation about Warhol's life. And, over at the Brooklyn Museum, Andy Warhol: The Last Decade, which opened June 18, is the first U.S. museum survey to examine his art from the '70s and '80s, including his later work inspired by collaborations with Jean-Michel Basquiat, Francesco Clemente, and Keith Haring. 'The Autobiography and Sex Life of Andy Warhol' at 6, New York Public Library, Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street, nypl.org, free. 'Andy Warhol: The Last Decade,' through September 12, Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, 718-638-5000, brooklynmuseum.org, $10
Mondays-Sundays, 10 a.m. Starts: June 23. Continues through July 10, 2010
