Wendy and Lucy
Dir. Kelly Reichardt (2008).
Sad pixie Wendy (Michelle Williams), already skating on thin ice, stumbles and, without a single support to brace herself, slides into the lower depths. Spare, actor-driven, socially aware, and open-ended, Kelly Reichardts third feature has obvious affinities to Italian neorealism but its also the most melancholy of American sagas.
