Slippery with sweat and sucking liberally from a garage rock teat tinged with New Wave hijinks, the smart-alecks in X-Ray Eyeballs have hit on a formula that's nowhere near new but unabashedly fun. Not Nothing, their debut, has felt right on the turntable this summer alongside stuff from Thee Oh Sees and the Hozac Records gang, and in a live situation the racket's just going to be louder, drunker, and looking to violate your personal space. Better just to leave that at home.
