Do you pay attention to fashion? I read GQ or The Source. I look for things that are a little different. I shop at Player on 145th, Harlem 125, and go to the Old Navy on 125th Street for sweats.

What’s the most money you’ve ever paid for a single item of clothing? I spent $600 on an Avirex jacket. It was orange with blue sleeves and a Cherokee Indian on the back.

What article of clothing did you see and just have to have? A nice FUBU outfit with pants and a jacket, gray with gray trim on the sides.

Do you pay attention to fashion? I dress to feel comfortable. I keep casual pants and a shirt at a locker at work and change into track pants when I leave.

What’s the most money you’ve ever paid for a single item of clothing? I spent $400 on a blazer because it matched all my other clothes.

What article of clothing did you see and just have to have? A one-of-a-kind sweatshirt with a picture of Detroit in smoking rubble and the message “Detroit: Rising from the Ashes.” I was always saying that Detroit had to be rebuilt, so I knew I had to have it.

What article of clothing did you see and just have to have? Leather boots with huge, chunky platform heels. My mother calls them my Frankenstein boots. As soon as I saw them, I knew they were supposed to be mine.

What’s the most money you’ve ever paid for a single item of clothing? I spend a lot of money in Brazil, which is where I’m from. I think the clothes are better there. I’ve easily spent $2000 on a dress or on a pair of pants.

What article of clothing did you see and just have to have? I can’t really think that way about buying clothes.

Do you pay attention to fashion? Only other people’s fashion. My ex-boyfriend was a fashion victim. There’s really nothing like waking up to televised fashion shows. Maybe that’s why he dumped me, because I didn’t care about clothes.

What’s the most money you’ve ever paid for a single item of clothing? I have a $200 MC jacket, but that was a gift. I shop at the Salvation Army and haven’t paid more than $20 for a piece of clothing in years.

What article of clothing did you see and just have to have? My Indian moccasin boots. I saw them in a window and immediately fell in love with them.

What’s the most money you’ve ever paid for a single item of clothing? My income’s not that high, so I have to save to buy things for special occasions. I once saved $150 for a pair of boots.

What article of clothing did you see and just have to have? It wasn’t clothing; it was a diamond ring for a dedication to my girlfriend. I felt good about buying it because I wanted her to feel special when she got it. And she did.
