Show Stoppers


An eclectic group of fashion followers, whose squeaky-clean tresses and perfectly fitted dresses belied whatever bohemian longings stir their young hearts, filled the audience at last week’s Gen Art Styles 2000 International Design Competition. The runway show featured the work of fashion designers far more accomplished than their amateur status would indicate (Gen Art described the event as “a global open call to aspiring talent who have been designing under their own label for seven years or less”); the crowd, too, was 100 percent professional in its devotion to the cult of chic.
