Sick of cold weather, crappy clubs, and annoying crowds? Put On a Happy Face! Well, that’s what the folks at Mishpucha are calling their next party. One half of the U.K. tech house duo Swayzak, Broon does his best to take on the rump-shaking duties left by his partner, James, who sat this trip out. Broon will be unveiling new Swayzak tunes and a new live set to help you, ahem, put on a happy face. He’ll be joined by Myself, Moosaka, and Vesta Maxie, plus Ivar II (Icelandic live laptop pop). Video DJ Honeygun provides the eye candy. Thursday @ 10, Filter 14, 875 Washington, 366-5680.

The Global Bass series returns with another visit from V Recordings honchos Bryan Gee and Jumping Jack Frost, providing their special brand of meaty, funky drum’n’bass, with the blue-eyed soul of Adam F boosting the speakers with U.K. mic hound MC MC. New York’s finest, DJ Soul Slinger and TC Islam, represent the local contingent, with a debut appearance by the Jungle Sky Band with Mystik. Sideroom showdowns come courtesy of Dylan (of Biotic and Renegade Hardware), 9X, and Statisbound. 2Steppers Dinesh, Reid Speed, and Klever lead the chapel’s ceremonies. Thursday @ 10, Limelight, 660 Sixth Ave, 802-9268.

The Limelight’s other fantastic monthly blowout, the Tresor series, also happens this week. Detroit’s dexterous DJ Dan Bell (a/k/a DBX) does the headlining honors. He’s joined by other minimal techno fiends DJ Shufflemaster, who comes all the way from Tokyo, the U.K.’s Tobias Schmidt, and New York’s own Function. Saturday @ 10, Limelight, 660 Sixth Ave, 807-7780.
