To get into the holiday spirit, go now to the second annual CHAOS & CANDY—hosted by glam guy Adam Dugas. Mr. Dugas and his merry band of pranksters will sing bawdy versions of your favorite holiday tunes. If that isn’t enough, you can get your rocks off at the “petting zoo” featuring real people, dressed up like plushies, wandering the grounds on all fours. And I hear Murray Hill will be Santy Claus again, which means you get to sit on his lap and tell him what a bad girl you’ve been.
Friday & Saturday @ 8, Volume, 29 Wythe St, Bklyn, adamdugas.com
More season’s greetings come courtesy of the Bombshell Girls, Lady Ace and MsTickle, who host SANTA‘S NUTS, CRACKER . . . A WHITE TRASH HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR, featuring especially lewd performances with pasties, including an interpretation of the dream sequence of THE NUTCRACKER. OK!
Wednesday @ 8, Slipper Room, 167 Orchard, 212.253.7246
Drum’n’bass may be “dead” but it’s alive and kicking every week at DIRECT DRIVE, which seems to be the only remaining high-profile d’n’b party left in this city. As it returns to the meatpacking district, going to the old Cooler space might feel a bit like déjà- vu if it wasn’t for guest DJ Klute, who does anything but regurgitate his beats. He’s always been forward-thinking, cutting up breaks with a precision that would make a brain surgeon proud. Those looking for roaring anthems will instead find quiet, equally debilitating predators. With E. Baggs, Paul C.
