Back at the HQ of Election Protection, things were busy. Activists stepped lively and dealt with questions from local voters, curious about where they should go to have their say. Damon Grossman was helping out with whatever he could. He’d come all the way from Venice Beach and spent the last two days knocking on doors, handing out a Voters Bill of Rights. “I got tears in my eyes,” said Grossman, growing emotional. “I can’t believe it’s 2004 and African Americans can’t get their vote counted. It’s backdoor racism.”
