Reporting From the Northside

by

The scene at the Northside Church of Christ wasn’t much different than other polling places. In the morning lines were long but by afternoon there was almost no wait. Election Protection’s volunteers sat in the shade on foldout chairs, reporting only a few procedural problems. Across the way a couple of Republican volunteers fumed about Kerry/Edwards volunteer cheating. The offense? Democratic sign-wavers had penetrated the 50 foot “no-campaign” zone.
